![]() ![]() O'Brien had previously been a tactical officer aboard the USS Rutledge during the war against Star Trek's Cardassians, and his experiences in combat colored his opinion of the species. On the USS Enterprise-D, O'Brien was predominantly the transporter chief, but fulfilled many other roles, including tactical officer during the Klingon Civil War. In TNG, O'Brien once stated that he had the honor of serving under the two best captains in the fleet, and that made three when he transferred to DS9 to serve under Commander, then Captain Benjamin Sisko (Avery Brooks). Star Trek: Lower Decksbrilliantly paid tribute to O'Brien in season 1, episode 3, "Temporal Edict", when a flash forward revealed a future society teaching about O'Brien's importance to the Star Trek universe. They also got official collabs with STO and The Expanse team, so some of their stuff is literally newly born canon. As the first character to bridge the gap between Star Trek: The Next Generationand Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Chief Miles O'Brien (Colm Meaney) has many great episodes in both shows. You want it, they've got it, condensed to 10 minute long videos and explained well enough for the average layman. Explains why they suddenly started putting out really good original designs three years ago. He's developed original content like Pacific 201, and does in depth analyses on technical and design aspects of both universes. Sam Cockings being at the helm really helps, being one of the best ship renderers we have, and they get guests like John Eaves and Andy Probert on.ĮC Henry covers Star Wars and Star Trek content, but he's one of the best ship designers I've ever seen. If you want detailed episode and ship analyses, this is where its at. Trekyards is a pretty definitive source on all of technical Star Trek. ![]() They're informative and funny, if not a little sarcastic. JBM does great snarky ship analyses and peripheral reviews. Junk Ball Media, Trekyards, EC Henry, and SpaceDock would be my recommendations. Most of the other recs I would have given are listed below, so enjoy and happy watching! :) Ryan's Edits also updates fairly regularly and he does hilarious clips where he inserts the bloopers back into the original scene it was shot for. If you've never seen the TikTok (song) x Star Trek TOS video it is ancient but arguably one of my favourite ridiculous internet videos ever made. That and the Trek movies are available on YT (loved the director's cut of TMP!)Īlso if we are being totally random. It meant a lot to reconnect with that crew. For myself it makes me really appreciate the work and dedication they put into those scripts to make each reference relevant.Īnyway, that and the DS9 documentary is on YT which to me was worth every cent to rent or buy. ScreenCrush has been uploading Easter Egg videos about the latest season of Picard and I honestly go and watch it right after I watch the new episode - they catch so many of the references and tie it back to the relevant pop culture. Think for yourself: Topics that boil down to "Should I watch.", "Will I like.", "Change my view on.", "Does anyone else.", or "Tell me what to think" are not contributing anything to the community.Ĭlick here for the full & detailed guidelines Upcoming Episodes: Date Meta: Send a modmail instead of making public posts or comments about: other users of this subreddit, the rules or moderators, the community at large or other subreddits, downvotes/upvotes.Ĩ.
